Meet Stacia!

Hi Three Queens Community,

My name is Stacia. Pro-nouns She/her

I have been practicing yoga for 19 years. I originally got into yoga while in my junior year of high school post knee surgeries. I was an athlete who injured my knee badly in a soccer game and had to put my athletic career on hold. I tried yoga and used it like physical therapy to regain movement.

I stopped when starting college but soon rediscovered I needed it in a different way to manage crippling anxiety attacks and depression. It healed me in ways I will forever be grateful for that I felt called to teach this healing to others and at 23 years old I started my yoga teacher training. I have been studying and exploring yoga and other mindfulness healing practices ever since. Everything from hatha, yin, restorative, vinyasa, thai massage, aerial yoga, paddle board yoga, pre natal, postpartum and reiki.

I teach classes that elevate and investigate. I create safe spaces, foster connections and aim to build community.

My favorite yoga poses to practice at home among dog/toddler chaos are supported heart bench or legs up the wall. My favorite pose to practice in studio is anything with a heart opening thigh stretch.

My classes and Thai massage sessions are always invitations to go deeper through breath and through subtlety. I love creative movement offered in approachable ways. I love knowing the science of the why of how yoga and breath re-patterns the systems of the body, especially the nervous system. I believe in shaking things up and using our process and practice to become better humans that can illuminate the world.

Outside of yoga I enjoy being in nature, traveling, food, live music, antiquing, dancing and most of all my family.  My husband, dog, and daughter are my world. I took a pause from teaching when the pandemic changed the in person studio industry and was also adjusting to the new journey of being a Mom but for the last year I have been joyfully returning back to teaching but from a very different lens.

A new tier of my passions as a new mother is to support families and new parents in the raw transitions as a birth and postpartum doula. I want to help birthing people build their village and rediscover themselves in their new chapter. I want to help them to feel supported so I am slowly creating a path to build work towards that.

I have years of great playlists available on my Spotify for students to access under Stacia Nero. And I use Instagram as a writing tool, as well as giving people glimpses into the world I create with my daughter: @namastacia and @mamastacia.

I hope you follow along and to have you in class one day.
