What Are Classes Like At Three Queens?

Three Queens Yoga has intentionally created an inclusive space so that those who may have felt different somewhere else are welcome here.

 

BASICS

  • Expect more detailed instruction and time for questions. Students will move from the floor to standing postures, often weight-bearing on the wrists and knees, with variations and pose modifications that encourage you.

    Props are provided for in-studio classes. This class is 60-75 minutes, including time for therapeutic rolling and savasana. Basics classes are taught from the same Three Queens guiding principles as our quarterly Beginner Series, but every teacher is unique. We encourage you to read teacher bios and try different classes to discover your favorite.

HOUR

  • The Hour offers fun poses and creative sequences and is designed for students looking to get a physical practice.

    Props are provided for in-studio classes. This class is 60 minutes, including time savasana. Each Hour class is teacher-specific, and we encourage you to read teacher bios and try different classes to discover your favorite.

MIXED LEVEL

  • These classes may include arm balances, inversions, standing and balance poses, with focused instruction and modifications. Expect pose breakdown and Q&A alongside conversational theming and yoga philosophy.

    Props are provided for in-studio classes. This class is 60-75 minutes, including time for therapeutic rolling and savasana. Each Mixed Level class is teacher-specific, and can vary greatly depending on teacher. We encourage you to read teacher bios and try different classes to discover your favorite.

INTERMEDIATE

  • Expect more complex pose variations, balancing poses and binds, alongside deeper yoga philosophy and Q&A.

    Props are provided for in-studio classes. This class is 75-90 minutes, including time for therapeutic rolling and savasana. Every Intermediate/Advanced class is teacher-specific, and we encourage you to read teacher bios and try different classes to discover your favorite. One year of dedicated practice is required.

SLOW FLOW & REST

  • The first portion of class involves intentional yoga asana and breath practice to bring intentional movement to the physical body and, in turn, energetic body. Movements in the mixed portion of class could include seated, standing, kneeling, and weight bearing on hands. A range of variations are offered to you can engage in a practice that is alignment with you. The second portion of class centers restorative yoga - floor based asanas supported by props with guided meditation and relaxation, pranayama, and yoga nidra.

    Props are provided for in-studio classes, including blocks, bolsters, and blankets. This class is 75 minutes. Each Slow Flow + Restore class is teacher-specific, and we encourage you to read teacher bios and try different classes to discover your favorite.

YIN

  • Yin at Three Queen is a floor based movement practice that includes seated, kneeling, laying down and weight bearing on hands and knees. Students should have comfort moving around on the floor and expect postures that at times with deep flexion in the knee and hips. Yin is always taught with the opportunity to use props to support student needs.

    Props are provided for in-studio classes, including blocks, straps, bolsters, and blankets.

VINYASA

  • Classes may include arm balances, inversions, standing and balance poses, with focused instruction and modifications.

    Props are provided for in-studio classes. This class is 60-75 minutes, including time for therapeutic rolling and savasana. Each Vinyasa class is teacher-specific, and can vary greatly depending on teacher. We encourage you to read teacher bios and try different classes to discover your favorite.

RESTORATIVE

  • Each class centers asanas supported by props with guided meditation and relaxation, pranayama, and yoga nidra.

    Props are provided for in-studio classes, including blocks, bolsters, and blankets. This class is 75 minutes.

COMMUNITY

  • Classes vary in theme and structure, from feisty to mellow flow. We invite you to experience them all, get to know our new teachers and have fun.

    These classes are donation based, and split with the new teacher.
