A Note to Our Community About Pricing

Raising prices is never easy, especially in a community centered space like a yoga studio. For many of us, yoga is not a luxury add-on; it’s a steadying practice, a place of care, and a source of connection.

We know that changes to pricing can land with real impact, and we want to be clear, transparent, and relational about why we made this decision.

This is the first time since the pandemic that we’ve raised membership prices at Three Queens. We delayed this step as long as we could, but we’ve reached a point where maintaining our values—rather than quietly eroding them—requires adjustment.

The Cost of Running the Studio Has Gone Up

Simply put: it costs more to run the studio than it used to.

Rent, utilities, insurance, software, cleaning, repairs—none of these are optional, and all of them have increased. We’ve absorbed those costs internally for as long as we could. But continuing to do that would mean quietly cutting elsewhere, and that didn’t feel right.

We didn’t want to solve rising expenses by asking teachers or staff to carry more without being paid for it.

Paying Teachers More Matters to Us

One of the main reasons for this increase is that we want to give our teachers raises. For a long time, yoga teachers across the industry have been underpaid relative to their labor. We are committed to changing that within our sphere of influence. Teaching yoga well takes time, training, emotional presence, and real labor. Our teachers show up prepared, thoughtful, and consistent. Many of them have been with Three Queens for years. They deserve to be paid in a way that reflects the care they bring to this work.

Raising prices allows us to do that in a real way—not symbolically, but materially.

Supporting the People Behind the Scenes

There’s also a lot of work that happens outside the classroom: scheduling, communication, billing, maintenance, and the daily logistics that keep the studio running smoothly. That work is held by salaried staff whose labor makes it possible for classes to happen at all.

This increase helps us support those roles more sustainably, rather than stretching people thin or relying on unpaid labor to make things work.

What Memberships Actually Support

Memberships are the backbone of the studio. They don’t just pay for individual classes—they cover the foundation of everything else.

Your membership supports:

  • Rent and utilities

  • Teacher pay

  • Salaried staff

  • Insurance and required business costs

  • Cleaning and upkeep

  • Booking and payment systems

  • A consistent, reliable class schedule

When memberships are stable, the studio can be stable. That stability matters—for students, teachers, and staff alike.

Accessibility Still Matters

We want to say this clearly: if this price increase is a hardship for you, please reach out. You can email Erick directly.

We don’t want money to be the reason someone leaves a practice or a community that supports them. That’s why we continue to offer legacy and scholarship rates, and why we’re open to conversation.

Three Queens exists because of the people who practice here, teach here, and care about this space. Thank you for being part of a community that believes yoga is not just a service, but a shared responsibility.
