Finding a sacred space in your home is hard especially in South Philly row homes but finding a corner to relax, reconnect and recharge is essential for our larger yoga practice: life.
I’ve come to understand sacred space as anywhere we offer or receive love, listening, beauty or life. Creating a space in your home will allow you to sit and be in the prescence of photos, books, candles that are reflections of ourselves. This space serves as a reminder of what we love and who we are.
We spend alot of our day giving to other people and places that our sacred spaces offers reconnection and refeclection of who we are. It is a place where we can turn inward and know ourselves better in order to be a better a better version of ourselves in this world.
Find a few meaningful things to you and grab a candle give yourself the gift of your own attention. The photo above is a picture of my sacred space. There is Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, Om figure, plants, ganesha statue and a candle. This space is brings me to the sound of my heart, the green earth, light, new beginnings and where this practice of yoga originated.
